Linda, Italian translator

Biography

Linda is one of our regular English-Italian translators. Her working languages are Italian (her mother tongue), as well as English and Spanish.

Linda is an extremely experienced translator with an excellent academic background in the translation field, having graduated in Translation from the Advanced School for Interpreters and Translators (SSLIMIT) in Forlì, Italy.

Linda spent many months abroad to complete her language training. In particular, she attended a Spanish course at Universidad Internacional Menéndez y Pelayo in Santander; as well as a “cultural immersion” course in Healdsburg, CA (USA).

Linda has been working as a full-time translator for more than 10 years, and specializes in the following fields: natural sciences, household appliances, cosmetics, gastronomy, medicine, music, veterinary, literature, and marketing.

In order to guarantee the highest translation standards, Linda regularly updates her translation tools (specialized, bilingual and monolingual dictionaries) and she is proficient in the use of Trados 2007, one of the most widely-used software packages for contextual translation.

Linda is a very outgoing and sociable person. She has studied the piano for over 10 years and also enjoys folk dancing.

Aboulian, Mandarin translator

Biography

Aboulian has been working as a translator for almost 20 years, entitling him to be one of the most experienced translators in our pool of translators.

After gaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Aboulian started his professional career as an Assistant Professor and English teacher for several Chinese academic institutions.

From 1993 to 2005 he worked as a part-time translator and interpreter within private Chinese companies, where he occupied several different positions such as commercial and buying manager, marketing executive and international trader.

Over the years he has gained a great deal of knowledge and experience in the business and finance field. During this time, he also provided face-to-face interpreting services for formal occasions like trade negotiations, news conferences and international exhibitions.

Since 2005, Aboulian has been working as a freelance translator on a full-time basis for many clients all over the world. His areas of expertise include finance, engineering, electronics, literature, marketing and law.

Like the majority of our professional translators, Aboulian uses Trados 2007 to proofread his translations and ensure they are of the highest possible standard.

So far, Aboulian has translated numerous documents for us; primarily marketing, technical and legal documents. He has been a constantly reliable translator, delivering translations on time, and always of the highest standard.

Ramiro, Spanish translator

Biography

Ramiro has been working as Spanish translator for over 12 years and is currently based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Ramiro’s higher education took place between Roseville, Minnesota, where he was for 8 years; and Rios, Argentina, where he attended the Faculty of Engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Entre. He holds a degree in Biomedical Engineering, as well as a Diploma in Translation.

Ramiro is specialized in the translation of documents pertaining to: medical equipment, medicine and health, engineering (electrical, electronic, and mechanical), construction and urbanization, religion, legal contracts, computer hardware and software, sports and politics.

He is able to work with many document formats, including brochures, academic papers, web pages, letters and correspondence, instruction manuals, newsletters, Powerpoint presentations, and video subtitles.

Ramiro is also a prolific writer of mechanical essays, with an enviable list of academic publications to his name; and is also a very talented linguist. Aside from being very fluent in English, he has a great working knowledge of Italian, French and Portuguese.
